C8’s Flying car modeMarch 3, 2020
Chevrolet knew from the start that the new midengined Corvette would get a lot of scrutiny and comparisons to the existing midengined supercars on the market, so they have invested a lot of time in testing. This has proven to be very beneficial, as almost all the reviews have been extremely positive.
It turns out that one of the things Chevrolet found was that on a race track, and set to the most aggressive performance mode, that when the C8 gets airborne, the rear wheels start to spin faster as they lose contact with the earth, the traction control system thinks the car hit a patch of something slippery and reduces the speed of the tires to try and regain traction. This is not what you want to have happen on a racecourse, so Chevy figured out how to let the car know it is going airborne and not to reduce power, and causing you time on a race track.
To allow the C8 to know it is about to go airborne, you will need to have the optional adaptive Magnetic Ride Control option. This enables the shock absorbers to talk to the traction control system. When the front shocks unload (have no weight on them) to expect the same to happen to the rear tires soon and to keep the power on.

What Mike likes about this Corvette:
“I received a call back around the Fall of 1989 from a schoolteacher in Riverside CA. She claimed she had an original 1965 Red 396 Convertible that she bought from a local guy in the area.
I loved those phone calls back then in the real good ole days!!! When you knew you were dealing with the Genuine Article.
Unlike over the past couple of decades when one must be careful about the cars we find.
This is the REAL DEAL. No fakes. No clones. No Smoke or Mirrors.
Do you want to add a super rare Red on Red 396 Convertible to your collection that you can be proud of? With Documentation, Notarized Affidavits from the original owner and the schoolteacher, Awards, All receipts from our exhaustive frame off restoration and so much more!! Binders full. Original drive train. Drives as it should and a list of all the owners, I’ve had the pleasure of selling it to over the past 30 years. A true California Black plate 396.
No Bull. I’ll stake my reputation on it.”
